Most of the Animal Rescue Groups are currently closing down their staging areas (Lamar Dixon, the biggest staging area, has closed down and sent their animals to other rescue groups across the country)

If you do still want to go to help out, please contact the individual rescue groups to see where the need still exists.  I know that Pasado's Safe Haven is sending 50 animals from Louisiana to Arkansas and are looking for volunteers to go to AK to help with the care of these animals.

Also please remember to put on Sunscreen first, wipe it in (your face too) - then after it has dried, put on Mosquito repellant (should have at least 30%-40% Deet in the ingredients)  Don't use anything stronger than 40% Deet, as it is a chemical.  You should put on mosquito repellant every four hours or so (read the label instructions) - the mosquitoes down there have been in contact with who knows what.
